The Background

Case A is a global communications company who specialise in delivering a range of services from networks to cloud computing solutions. They design cutting-edge ICT solutions and offer comprehensive support to a range of blue chip corporate organisations.

The Requirement

Case A was looking at a cost and space saving exercise across their finance department. Their active and redundant files along with archive boxes had begun to create storage problems. Logicmove was consulted in order to provide a storage and logistics solution to move files from their current locations at Case A's head office and its remote self-storage business unit to a secure offsite premises where their records could be managed.

The Logicmove Solution

Logicmove identified the current costs Case A's was investing in a 'self-storage' style business unit and reduced these dramatically.

This was based on such factors as rates per sq.ft (with Logicmove, Case A's would only be paying per box for storage- not the unused space it occupied), the staff time for retrieval and collection to and from the unit, and the life cycle of the document, i.e. retention plans – so as not to store a document for longer than necessary.

Once a budget had been agreed, Logicmove arranged a packing service to index, catalogue, pack and remove the files from the business unit and head offices and to then transport them to our secure premises.

Once the boxes were transported into Logicmove premises, the system had to be flexible enough to allow Case A to recall their files as quickly and easily as possible. Once input into Logicmove's database a complete inventory was supplied to the client so that they are able to find the correct documents as and when they need them. Logicmove now provides Case A with a retrieval and collection service alongside their document storage.
